The African Literacy Project was started by Reverend C.B. Clayton, Sr. It was the result of his love for the children of Africa, especially those who have been orphaned and presented with significant socio-economic challenges.
The African Literacy Project, exists to empower churches to transform communities through reading and leadership development. We equip pastors and ministry leaders to launch after-school reading programs for children, provide adult literacy training, and multiply trainers across churches and businesses—creating a sustainable model of education, outreach, and economic growth in South Africa’s townships.
We offer a variety of programs and services that enable senior pastors to establish internal seminary-style training to strengthen their staff and volunteers, many of whom have no formal theological education, building stronger churches from the inside out.
We envision a world where everyone has access to basic necessities, education, and healthcare. We work towards creating a sustainable future for all.
Our organization provides various programs that focus on education, healthcare, and sustainability. Join us in making a difference in the world.
Providing church leaders with training to more effectively and biblically lead their staffs, flocks, and communities.
